How We Met
We met through a mutual friend and our first hangout was a blind double date! The moment I sat next to him in a little booth at Cleats I immediately noticed his big blue eyes and that I wanted to get to know him more. We would hang out after I got off work (I was working second shift at the time) and for awhile just hung out in his backyard around a fire because he had his two kids inside sleeping. We would have date nights when he didn’t have his kids and slowly formed a friendship that evolved into our love story. After 6 months I met his kids and it was very early on we determined I was the missing puzzle piece to our family and we never looked back! We’ve been together going on 5 years!
The Proposal
He proposed in February 2021 during a photoshoot I had planned! I had a feeling it would be happening but was still shocked when he got down on one knee, and equally as surprised when I saw how STUNNING my ring was! It was the easiest yes I ever said, though it took me a few seconds to get that out through all the crying! We decided 8 months after that to legally get married, as we were still planning our big wedding for 2022 and eloped with just us and our kids. Our amazing officiant who married us again in 2022, married us for our elopement as well. It was the most perfect fall evening and was exactly 1 year before our big wedding! So, our wedding day was really our 1 year anniversary!
Why running horse farm
When we started planning our wedding I knew it was important to pick a venue that was both myself and him. I didn’t want something that he wouldn’t love, and vice versa. We knew with that we would need what came to be known as “rustic chic” – classy and elegant with a little country. I knew Running Horse Farms from being a wedding photographer and it was the one and only venue we looked at. I knew it fit my own wants and once my husband saw it he too fell in love! The real wood, the amazing lighting, the grounds of the property, it was our dream brought to life!
Wedding Planning
Wedding planning was pretty easy! I had all our main vendors picked out and booked within a coupe of weeks! I think the only thing I would change is setting a budget FIRST! We skipped that part and though we loved everything about our day we wish we would’ve budgeted a little better. Otherwise just have fun! Remember why you are planning a wedding in the first place – you found your person and get to celebrate with all your friends and family!
Our Favorite moment
My favorite moment was my first look with my husband and us reading our vows to one another. We opted to not have anyone else around for that except the two of us and it was the best decision we made. We cried seeing each other and were able to share that private and intimate moment of our vows between just the two of us. And there was lots of laughter over how similar our vows were to one another – we do that sort of thing a lot so it was SO fun to see us do it yet again on our wedding day!

Thank God – Kane Brown
I would just like to thank Megan and everyone at RHF for being simply amazing. From the decor stash to the actual decorating all the way to the venue itself, it truly was a dream day and we are so thankful we got to celebrate it there!
